MCCA Desktop License Purchase
We are happy to share that DGIT will again be purchasing MCCA Desktop licenses for all DGSOM, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, and School of Public Health users, at no cost to the Departments for Fiscal Year 2017-18.
What are MCCA licenses?
Microsoft Consolidated Campus Agreement (MCCA) Desktop licenses provide access to Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, as well as the Windows Operating System.
This license allows all users to upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Office, ensuring consistent use of the latest versions of the Windows OS and Office applications, which is critical for Mednet e-mail, and security initiatives throughout UCLA Health Sciences. It will additionally provide a huge cost-savings to all DGSOM departments and included schools.
What products are not covered under MCCA?
Adobe: Photoshop, Acrobat Professional, Illustrator, Creative Cloud
Microsoft: Visio, Project, Azure
Note: There are other license types offered through MCCA (e.g., Windows server operating systems) that are not part of this purchase. Any other MCCA licenses besides desktop licenses should be purchased separately by your department.
What do I need to do?
All Computer Support Coordinators (CSCs) have been notified of the purchase, and will contact you to update your system if neccessary.
